Doyle Gone To The Dark Side
Folks, this is it! The official "blogging" begins here. Guerrilla Filmmaker may be a thing of the past, but Mark Doyle and yours truly are back to share what's on our minds... or at the very least, what news someone else may have given us that we feel we should share with you all. (and please do let us know what you think)
I just finished going through Mark Doyle's first SOCIETY AND YOU blog and I can't even begin to express my delight in "hearing" the excitement in his words... Words like hounds, Phoenix, and my own personal favorite, revolution. Sounds like someone wasn't very busy at work today... But seriously, folks... Here's the lowdown: Mark Doyle has crossed over to a new place; one that is darker, more sinister... but one that has apparently made him more motivated than ever. With his own, newfound indulgence toward more bizarre Lynchian fare, such as INLAND EMPIRE, and his personal acknowledgement that Quentin Tarantino will never top RESERVOIR DOGS and PULP FICTION, either artistically or at the box office, Doyle has definitively left the ground his feet once stood on and now resides on the Dark Side.
But the new Mark Doyle, which we shall henceforth identify simply as Dark Moyle, is definitely improved. His recent experiences in the world of post production and his ability to refrain from unnecessary political rants at most inopportune times have made him a more complete filmmaker, and ultimately a better, more 'human' human being. It's therefore much more pleasant now to read through his personal scribblings and find those thoughts that are worthy of sharing with you all on this, our new Society and you.
Happy trails - Derlin

The Cinema Revolution Is On!
Okay folks, no more peeking in the door. No more sneaking around, trying to find out what we have been doing during the last couple of years, since issue #9 of Guerrilla Filmmaker Magazine came off the press. We are now five years past 9/11, a catastrophe that put all of us back in every way imaginable. But like the Phoenix, we have risen... risen to take hold of something we only had our hands on for a fleeting moment.
People listen up… We are all in this together! The rebirth of important cinema is our new revolution. We are leading the charge… Regardless of your political views... Whether you’re a cinema lover or a cinema maker... It does not matter. The compulsion to inspire you to make great cinema, seek great cinema, or at the very least, view great cinema, is our primary concern. Keeping production on U.S. soil is a mission we take very seriously. Share your experiences… We are releasing the hounds… Everybody blog... Let us know you’re out there... Ask the questions and we’ll do our best to provide the answers.
- Doyle out… (or, as I am otherwise known: Dark Moyle).

The Domani Vision Film Society (DVFS) invites you to come on board for a journey that promises to be exciting, thought-provoking, and ultimately rewarding, from so many vantage points. The concepts behind the inception of DVFS date back to the summer of 2003, when the Guerrilla Film & Video Festival officially shed its long moniker in favor of VISIONFEST: The Other Festival, thus initiating a brand new chapter in its ongoing tale.
With VISIONFEST 07 on the horizon, six annual film festivals under its belt, and a slew of industry-affiliated events at venues throughout the United States, DVFS is now an organization that has proven the strength of its legs. DVFS is ready to embrace its newly acquired "non-profit" status to further expand community outreach programs by forming partnerships and affiliations with educational institutions.
DVFS is here for its members and for the community. Its volunteer staff is made up of dedicated professionals whose passion is evident on all of the initiatives created and realized by DVFS. It's by no means mandatory to join DVFS to take part in its many events and programs throughout the year, however, it is with the generous support of its members, sponsors, and industry affiliates that DVFS can truly make a difference and continue to flourish with those ambitious goals en route to new horizons.
